Hope this update finds you all fit and well. We have been extremely busy over the last few weeks and unfortunately it is always our updates that suffer! As most of you know my PC skills are not my strong point and again today as I spend hours on the phone trying to update my anti-virus program, I have been swayed from the task at hand. Alas, here I am now sitting at the PC watching the last of the sun going down over the water (obviously still avoiding writing our newsletter and other updates)!
Many of you have been in lately to look at the small exhibition we have been running during the Shire’s Peninsula Festival of Art and Ideas. This festival was a celebration of local and Victorian artists and ran between 15 and 30 May 2009. From this period, we have been holding an exhibition of works by Pamela Farmer and Carole Redlich and we also had interactive workshops. Thanks to everyone who attended.
If you are in the neighbourhood, drop in and see our amazing instore gallery! If you haven’t been and get a chance, do come and visit as some of the pieces are just astounding. A visual treat from Pamela Farmer and Carole Redlich. (And speaking of visual treats in the Arts, did you know that the Victorian College of the Arts is under a funding cloud? If you are interested please go to www.savevca.org for more information, and to sign the online petition.)
Thanks to all my wonderful friends and family members, we have given the shop a lick of paint to clean it up and it is looking really good. I must say with the girls’ work on the walls, we have taken on a new and exciting phase of becoming a small gallery as well. As many of you know, we are extending our ‘textile side’ and would love to hear from any of you who may have ideas of products you would like to see us stock. I am currently looking at a new range of beautiful threads and felt products that should be in store in the next few weeks.
Hope to see you soon
Catherine
